Durrus 380g | Cow’s Milk | Animal Rennet | Co. Cork

Durrus is one of Ireland’s most celebrated washed-rind farmhouse cheeses, handcrafted by Jeffa Gill in the village of Durrus, Co. Cork. Made from cow’s milk and animal rennet, this smaller format offers the same rich flavour and distinctive character that have made Durrus a benchmark of Irish artisan cheesemaking.

Beneath its beautifully developed washed rind lies a supple, creamy paste with a rich buttery texture and remarkable depth of flavour. Notes of fresh hay, woodland undergrowth and gentle earthiness combine with savoury richness and the natural sweetness of the milk, creating a cheese that is both complex and beautifully balanced.

Produced using traditional farmhouse methods since 1979, Durrus reflects the unique landscape and maritime climate of West Cork. Perfect for cheeseboards, crusty bread and artisan accompaniments, it pairs exceptionally well with cider, craft beer and full-bodied white wines.

Flavour Profile: Rich and buttery with earthy savoury notes, hints of fresh hay, sweet milk character and a long, complex finish.
